The Dangers of Using High Pressure on Cleaning Vinyl Siding
Published by SidingPro on Tagged CleaningNothing good comes from water getting on the backside of your siding on your home, and it should always be avoided. The siding is designed with slits in them (called weep holes) that will let very small amounts of water to escape. The issue is they are not large enough to handle the pressure of water produced by pressure washing. When you have water hitting the siding at high pressure, forcing its way under the insulation, you have a ton of trouble.
Many professional pressure washing companies are adapting to low pressure house washing. Eventually, the moisture works its way into the frame of the house. The water can do damage to the home’s interior, electrical shorts and circuit damage, mold and mildew could start to cause siding to bulge when water gets into the particle board. Consult a power washing professional before you DIY power wash your home.
